QLD Poker Machine Tender #58 (Pubs) - Tender OPEN
By Steve Gagel, Director of Business Services and Taxation
The Qld Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation has opened the tender for the latest round of gaming authorities via the Courier Mail on Wednesday 7 May. Note that Tender #57 has yet to be finalised so we cannot update you on this result. I have never seen OLGR open a tender without closing out the prior tender.
The last traded tender value (two tenders ago) in brackets, being:
- 118 South East ($606,210 - tender #56) – minimum acceptable price $429,556 (No change/result from tender #57)
- 29 Coastal ($203,010 - tender #56) – minimum acceptable price $186,452 (No change/result from tender #57)
- 2 Western ($100,950 - tender #55) – minimum acceptable price $81,332 (No change/result from tender #57)
There is a dramatic increase in supply in South East Region (up from 4 in the unfinalised Tender #57). Coastal and Western Regions with similar reduced supply. Very interesting to see the supply in South East Region rocket up with the potential of the reduced Qld Government tax ending on 30 June 2025 – to my knowledge there is plenty of talk about the 15% rate being extended indefinitely but this is not set in stone. Less than ideal government clarity in the market at the moment.
If you intend to bid in the Pub Tender, please ensure you have lodged your completed form (along with the lodgement fee of $77) in the tender box (facsimile, post or email not acceptable) with the Public Trust Office, West Tower, Ground Floor, 410 Ann Street, Brisbane prior to 4pm Wednesday 28 May 2025.
